สวยรักษ์โลกด้วยวิถีออร์แกนิค

วันที่ 22 เมษายนของทุกปี เป็นวันคุ้มครองโลกหรือ Earth Day โดยจุดเริ่มต้นของการสร้างกระแสความห่วงใยสิ่งแวดล้อมและอนุรักษ์ธรรมชาติ เกิดขึ้นที่สหรัฐอเมริกา สมาชิกวุฒิสภา เกย์ลอร์ด เนลสัน ได้ผลักดันให้มีการจัดการชุมนุมเพื่อแสดงความคิดเห็นในปัญหาสิ่งแวดล้อม จนมีผู้เข้าร่วมการชุมนุมเป็นจำนวนมาก โครงการสิ่งแวดล้อมแห่งองค์การสหประชาชาติ (UNEP) จึงประกาศเมื่อวันที่ 22 เมษายน พ.ศ. 2513 ถือเอาวันที่ 22 เมษายนของทุกปี เป็นวันคุ้มครองโลก เพื่อเป็นโอกาสอันดีที่คนทั่วโลกจะพร้อมใจกันทำประโยชน์ เพื่อรักษาธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อม ให้โลกของเรายังมีอากาศที่บริสุทธิ์และสภาวะแวดล้อมที่ดีต่อไป พร้อมทั้งมีการจัดกิจกรรมต่างๆขึ้นมาอย่างต่อเนื่อง อาทิ ส่งเสริมการปลูกต้นไม้ทั่วทุกหนแห่ง, อนุรักษ์ต้นไม้ใหญ่ที่เหลืออยู่ในเมือง หมู่บ้าน และภูเขา, รณรงค์ให้มีการอนุรักษ์ป่าธรรมชาติ เพื่อเป็นแหล่งต้นน้ำลำธารและที่อยู่อาศัยของสัตว์ป่า, ให้การศึกษาแก่เยาวชนและประชาชนทั่วไปได้ตระหนักถึงปัญหาเกี่ยวกับสิ่งแวดล้อมมากขึ้น, ร่วมกันรักษาความสะอาดตามถนนหนทาง ชายหาด อุทยาน และสถานที่สาธารณะต่างๆ และ รณรงค์ให้มีการคัดแยกขยะในแต่ละครัวเรือน เพื่อนำไปรีไซเคิล หรือนำกลับมาใช้ซ้ำ เป็นการลดปริมาณขยะ

Every year, April 22nd is recognized as the Earth Day. It starts with the public concern for the environment and saving nature in the United States. Gaylord Nelson, a Congressman, has encouraged the gatherings to express their concern regarding the environmental issues until a large number of people participate. The United Nations Environment Program or UNEP announced on April 22th, 1970, that on April 22nd of every year is the Earth Day. It’s an excellent opportunity for people around the world to unite and do something useful to preserve nature and the environment, allowing our world to continually produce fresh air and good environment. There’re also various activities continuously organized: promoting planting trees in places, preserving the large trees in the cities, villages, and mountains, promoting forest preservation to be the sources of fresh water and wildlife’s habitats, providing education to young people and the general public to be more aware of environmental problems, cleaning public spaces like roads, beaches, parks, etc. and sorting the household’s garbage to reuse, recycle, and reduce waste.
