ร่วมรักษ์โลก งดใช้พลาสติกกับท็อปส์

ในช่วงปีหลังๆมานี้ จะสังเกตเห็นได้ว่า อุณหภูมิในประเทศไทยสูงขึ้นทุกปีๆ และมีความแปรปรวนของดินฟ้าอากาศสูง เหตุการณ์เหล่านี้เกิดขึ้นจากภาวะโลกร้อน ภัยใกล้ตัวที่เราได้ตระหนักกันมาหลายปี แต่ก็ยังไม่สามารถแก้ไขปัญหานี้ให้หมดไปได้

Due to the global warming, the temperature in Thailand has been rising every year and the climate has changed drastically. Although we have been aware of this for years, the problem still persists.

หนึ่งในต้นเหตุการณ์เกิดภาวะโลกร้อนนั่นก็คือพลาสติกนั่นเอง ซึ่งพลาสติกที่ส่งผลต่อสิ่งแวดล้อมโดยตรงก็มักจะเป็นพลาสติกที่ผลิตมาเพื่อใช้ครั้งเดียวแล้วทิ้ง เพราะเป็นการสร้างขยะอย่างมหาศาล และการย่อยสลายก็ต้องใช้เวลาถึง 400กว่าปีเลยทีเดียว

Plastic is one of the root causes of the global warming. Most of the plastic we use nowadays is disposable and it turns into a huge chunk of trash later on. It takes over 400 years to degrade all of these trashes.

ปัญหาการย่อยสลายของพลาสติกทำให้เกิดการปล่อยขยะลงแม่น้ำ ลำคลองต่าง ๆ และทำให้เกิดขยะล้นทะเลในที่สุด และเป็นการสร้างปัญหาให้สัตว์ทะเลโดยตรง ซึ่งมักจะเห็นข่าวกันอยู่บ่อยๆ เช่น เต่าทะเลตายจากการติดเศษเครื่องมือประมงในทะเลอย่างอวนจับปลา หรือวาฬตายและพบว่าในกระเพาะเต็มไปด้วยขยะจากพลาสติกต่างๆ

Since it takes considerable time degrading the trash, people decided to throw them in the rivers and they keep piling up causing danger to sea animals as frequently shown in the news. For example, sea turtles were accidentally caught in fishing nets and ended up dead. Whales were found dead with a stomach full of plastics.

ปัญหาต่างๆเหล่านี้ สามารถหยุดได้ เริ่มต้นได้ที่ตัวเราเองค่ะ ปฏิเสธการรับถุงพลาสติกจากร้านสะดวกซื้อ และหันมาใช้กระเป๋าผ้าแทน ปฏิเสธการใช้หลอดหรือใช้หลอดกระดาษแทนการใช้หลอดพลาสติก และหันมาใช้สินค้าที่คำนึงถึงสิ่งแวดล้อมมากขึ้นค่ะ

We can help stop these problems by using cloth bags instead of plastic ones. Stop using plastic straw and use paper straws instead. Most importantly, try to use as many eco-friendly products as possible.

และในปีนี้ทางท็อปส์เองก็อยากจะให้ทุกคนหันมารักษ์โลกด้วยกันค่ะ นอกจากแคมเปญจ์การงดแจกถุงพลาสติกในวันที่ 4 ของทุกเดือน ซึ่งได้รับการตอบรับอย่างดีแล้วนั้น และตั้งแต่วันที่ 21 พฤษภาคม นี้เป็นต้นไป ท็อปส์ จะมีนโยบายยกเลิกการขายสำลีก้านพลาสติก และรณรงค์ให้ทุกคนหันมาใช้สำลีก้านกระดาษกันแทน เพื่อเป็นอีกหนึ่งแรงในการบรรเทาภาวะขยะล้นทะเล และลดโลกร้อนค่ะ

Together, let’s save the earth. Besides the no plastic bag campaign on the 4th of every month, from 21st May onward, Tops will stop selling cotton bud with plastic sticks and sell the ones with paper sticks instead. Let’s work hand in hand to tackle the global warming and garbage overflowing the seas.
