เทศกาลดอกไม้ไฟ

หากจะพูดถึงเทศกาลลอยกระทง สิ่งที่ขาดไม่ได้ในเทศกาลนี้ นอกจากกระทง นางนพมาศ ก็คงจะหนีไม่พ้น พลุ หรือ ดอกไม้ไฟ นั่นเองค่ะ

When talking about Loy Krathong Festival, what usually come into our minds apart from Krathong (banana leaf vessel) and Nang Nopphamat (a beautiful consort) are fireworks.

ดอกไม้ไฟคืออะไร และถือกำเนิดขึ้นมาได้อย่างไร?

เชื่อกันว่าชาวจีนเป็นผู้ค้นคิดพลุและดอกไม้ไฟเมื่อกว่า 1,000 ปีมาแล้ว เป็นผลสืบเนื่องจากการประดิษฐ์คิดค้นดินปืนนั่นเอง จุดประสงค์เริ่มแรกใช้จุดเพื่อขับไล่ภูตผีปีศาจที่มารังควาน ก่อนที่จะใช้เพื่อกิจกรรมทางศาสนาที่สำคัญอย่าง วันตรุษจีน ซึ่งปัจจุบันจีนยังคงเป็นผู้ส่งออกดอกไม้ไฟรายใหญ่ที่สุดในโลกอีกด้วย ดอกไม้ไฟจะมีส่วนประกอบสำคัญคือ

• ชนวน (Fuse) ทำจากวัสดุที่ติดไฟได้ง่าย ยื่นออกมานอกเปลือกหุ้ม สำหรับให้เราจุดไฟที่ปลายของชนวนนี้

• เปลือกห่อหุ้ม (Shell) เป็นส่วนที่ห่อหุ้มส่วนประกอบทั้งหมดเอาไว้

• ดินปืนส่งให้พุ่งขึ้นสู่ท้องฟ้า (Lifting Charge) เป็นส่วนที่เชื่อมต่อกับชนวน โดยจะสัมผัสกับประกายไฟและส่งให้พลุพุ่งขึ้นสู่ท้องฟ้า

• ชนวนควบคุมเวลาการระเบิด (Time Delay Fuse) ชนวนที่อยู่ภายในเปลือกห่อหุ้ม เป็นตัวกำหนดระยะเวลาที่พลุจะระเบิดออกมาเป็นสีสันต่าง ๆ

• ดินปืนจุดระเบิด (Bursting Charge) อยู่ติดกับชนวนควบคุมเวลาการระเบิด

• เม็ดดาว (Star) เป็นส่วนของสารเคมีที่ให้สีสันต่าง ๆ เมื่อแตกออก

So, what exactly is the firework and how is it invented? It is believed that the Chinese invented the firework around 1,000 years ago as a consequence of gunpowder production. Previously, the purpose of firework was to scare away the evil spirits. Later on, the firework is used for religious festivals such as Chinese New Year. Today, China remains the world's largest manufacturer and exporter of fireworks. The important parts of firework consist of

• Fuse is made of a flammable material jutting out of the shell. You can light the firework at the end of the fuse.

• Shell is the part which encapsulates all other components.

• Lifting charge is the part connected to the fuse. Once it touches the sparks, the firework will fly up into the sky.

• Time Delay Fuse is covered inside the shell to time the firework display and enable the firework to burst into different colors.

• Bursting Charge is right next to the time delay fuse.

• Star is the chemical that creates colors when bursting.

แม้จะจัดว่าเป็นวัตถุระเบิดชนิดหนึ่งแต่พลุที่ประกอบด้วยแสง เสียง ควันที่สวยงามกลับถูกนำมาใช้ในงานรื่นเริง การเฉลิมฉลองต่างๆ และยังนิยมใช้งานอย่างกว้างขวางจนถึงปัจจุบัน ในเกือบทุกประเทศทั่วโลก พลุจะใช้ในงานแสดง งานบันเทิง งานด้านวัฒนธรรมและการท่องเที่ยว เช่น เทศกาลดอกไม้ไฟที่ประเทศญี่ปุ่น ซึ่งจัดเป็นประจำในช่วงฤดูร้อนระหว่างเดือนกรกฎาคมถึงสิงหาคมของทุกปี

สำหรับที่มาของการเล่นไฟพร้อมกับการลอยประทีปไปตามลำน้ำของชาวไทยนั้น ปรากฏอยู่ในศิลาจารึกสมัยพ่อขุนรามคำแหงมหาราชแห่งอาณาจักรสุโขทัย หลักที่ 1 บรรทัดที่ 14 ว่า "...เมืองสุโขทัยนี้มีสี่ปากปตูหลวง เที้ยรย่อมคนเสียดกัน เข้ามาดูท่านเผาเทียนเล่นไฟเมืองสุโขทัยนี้มีดั่งจักแตก..." หมายความถึงผู้คนมากมายในสุโขทัย เบียดเสียดพากันมาดูการเผาเทียนเล่นไฟ ซึ่งท่านผู้รู้หลายท่านสันนิษฐานว่างานดังกล่าวนั้นน่าจะเป็นการเผาเทียน เล่นไฟ ในงานเทศกาลลอยกระทงนั่นเอง

Though fireworks are classified as explosives, they’re always displayed during festivals and celebrations because of their special features like light, sound and colorful smoke. The fireworks are widely used until now in almost every country around the world. Usually, the fireworks are displayed in entertainment events, cultural shows and tourism such as the Fireworks Festival in Japan which is usually held in summer or from July to August of every year.

The origin of the festival celebrated with fireworks and the candlelit floating objects along the river was recorded in the stone inscription dated back to the Sukhothai Period when King Ram Khamhaeng ruled the kingdom of Sukhothai. The stone pillar no.1, line 14 described that "... Sukhothai is crowded with a horde of people who come to see the burning candles and fire display. The experts believed that the festival mentioned in the stone pillar is the firework display during Loy Krathong Festival.

เป็นเหตุให้จังหวัดสุโขทัย ร่วมกับกรมศิลปากร และการท่องเที่ยวแห่งประเทศไทยจัดงานพลิกฟื้นประวัติศาสตร์ประเพณีลอยกระทงขึ้นให้เป็นงานระดับชาติ และให้ชื่องานตามคำในศิลาจารึกว่า "งานลอยกระทงเผาเทียน เล่นไฟ" โดยหัวใจของงานนี้ คือ การฟื้นฟูประเพณีลอยกระทง เผาเทียน เล่นไฟ พลุ ตะไล ไฟพะเนียง ดอกไม้ไฟชนิดต่างๆ เริ่มตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ. 2520 เป็นประจำทุกปีจนถึงปัจจุบัน ในวันเพ็ญ 15 ค่ำเดือน 12 ณ อุทยานประวัติศาสตร์สุโขทัย สำหรับปีนี้งานจะจัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 16-22 พฤศจิกายน พ.ศ.2561

สิ่งที่เต็มไปด้วยความสวยงามเมื่ออยู่บนฟ้า ก็เต็มไปด้วยอันตรายเช่นเดียวกัน โดยเฉพาะอุบัติเหตุที่เกิดจากการเล่นพลุ และดอกไม้ไฟ ในช่วงเทศกาลลอยกระทง มักจะมีสถิติของอุบัติเหตุเพิ่มสูงกว่าปกติหลายเท่าตัว จึงมีข้อควรระมัดระวังในการเล่นพลุเพื่อความปลอดภัย ได้แก่ ไม่เล่นพลุในบ้านหรือการให้เด็กเล่นพลุตามลำพัง ไม่เก็บพลุ ดอกไม้ไฟไว้ในที่ร้อน แสงแดดส่องถึงและบริเวณที่มีประกายไฟ เพราะสะเก็ดไฟอาจกระเด็นมาติด ทำให้เกิดระเบิดและเพลิงไหม้ได้ ห้ามจุดพลุ ดอกไม้ไฟในพื้นที่เสี่ยงอันตราย โดยเฉพาะบริเวณใกล้แนวสายไฟฟ้า สถานีบริการน้ำมัน วัตถุไวไฟ และควรมีการตระเตรียมอุปกรณ์ดับไฟหรือน้ำไว้ใกล้มือขณะเล่น หรือรอชมความงามของพลุดอกไม้ไฟในเทศกาลต่างๆที่จัดขึ้นซึ่งมีให้ได้ชมกันอยู่เสมอจะปลอดภัยที่สุด

As a result, Sukhothai Province collaborated with the Fine Arts Department and The Tourism Authority of Thailand organizes Loy Krathong Festival as a national event to bring history to life. The festival is named after the festival mentioned in the stone pillar. The heart of this festival is to restore the tradition of Loy Krathong, candle light and all forms of fireworks. The celebration has been held from 1977 until present. The event takes place on the 15th waxing moon of the 12th lunar month at Sukhothai Historical Park. This year, the event will be held from 16 to 22 November, 2018.

Beautiful objects when flying up into the sky might cause great danger as well, especially the accident caused by fireworks. During Loy Krathong Festival, the number of accident caused by fireworks is skyrocketing. It’s necessary to handle the fireworks with caution and follow these safety tips. Avoid letting children play with fireworks alone. Keep the fireworks away from the heat, sunlight or flammable areas as it can spark at any time and cause explosions or catch a fire. Avoid playing with the fireworks in hazardous areas, especially near the overhead lines, gas station or flammable objects. It’s recommended to supply water or fire extinguishers while enjoying the fireworks or waiting to see the splendid firework display during the festivals or events for your safety.
